DR RITA NANDI

Dr Rita Nandi is the founder and medical director of The Bloom Clinic. She has also been working for the past year for the large dermatology and aesthetics clinic chain Sk:n as a senior medical injector and trains other medical professionals on aesthetic treatments for Derma Medical-the UK’s largest, award-winning aesthetic training academy. She is also a Key Opinion Leader for Med-fx, an aesthetic pharmacy and the well-known injectable brand, Sunekos, and teaches other medical professionals how to treat their patients with Sunekos at monthly workshops in London. She speaks at aesthetic conferences and writes for industry magazines and scientific journals.

After graduating from Kings College London with a BSc (Hons) in Physiology and a medical degree from the University of Leeds in 2007, she spent 13 years working as an NHS doctor across numerous medical and surgical specialities, including three years working in A&E and trauma & orthopaedics. Her career also includes six months of working and carrying out research in a public hospital in South Africa.

Dr Nandi’s love of general medicine, her natural ability to empathise with others and her desire to have continuity in the care of her patients drew her to General Practice, upon which she decided to embark on further training.

In 2015 she obtained her Certificate of Completion of Medical Training and began working within this field and has scored highly in her assessments, patient feedback and multi-source colleague feedback.

Dr Nandi still works a couple of days a month as an NHS GP as she believes it is important to keep serving the NHS alongside her passion for helping patients discover life-enhancing skin and injectable treatments.

Dr Nandi has had consistent feedback from her patients that she is not only thorough as a doctor but is also warm, friendly and caring and really takes the time to listen and understand her patients’ concerns. She is thrilled she can spend more time with her private patients than what her NHS work gives her.

By getting to really know and understand the person inside, she can deliver effective results that complement both the physical and emotional being.

To meet Health Education England’s 2016 recommendations to raise standards in cosmetic procedure delivery, Dr Nandi enrolled on the Level 7 (masters-equivalent) in Injectables alongside Cosmetic Dermatology training with the highly-esteemed Harley Academy, as having an excellent foundation on which to base her aesthetic practice was important.

After being mentored by some of the industry’s best injectors, Dr Nandi prides herself on using the safest techniques to achieve the best aesthetic outcomes for her clients. She has also been taught and mentored on numerous other courses by Cosmetic Courses and Derma Medical; two other leading aesthetic trainers for medical professionals in the UK.

She has undergone rigorous product training for each treatment The Bloom Clinic offers and is fully insured by Hamilton Fraser.

Through Dr Nandi’s commitment to ensuring the clinic meets best practice standards and provides the highest quality of care, the clinic has undergone rigorous Save Face accreditation and is a member of JCCP, ACE Group and CMAC, so it is very well supported.

The aesthetic industry is still a relatively unregulated sector, and Dr Nandi is committed to raising safety standards and quality of care within the industry. She has invested in numerous courses, including over 30 courses on dermal filler alone, in order to be a safer and highly trained injector for her patients as she values patient safety above everything else. She formed a study group for aesthetic practitioners in London who are keen to continually improve and stay up to date as aesthetic practitioners.

She also has her aesthetic professional development reviewed during the annual appraisals she undergoes as a cosmetic doctor.
